Our pastor is Dr. Charles Nicholson. Here is a brief overview of his life in his own words.

I was born in Brevard, NC on October 7, 1963. I attended Rosman Elementary and Rosman High School which is located in Transylvania County, NC. My parents were godly and hard working people. They taught me the basic things of the Lord from an early age. I accepted Christ as my Savior on November 4, 1979 at the Midway Baptist Church near Brevard, NC. I graduated from Rosman High school in 1981.

After graduation I attended Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, NC. I graduated in 1982 with an Associate degree in Electrical Installation and Industrial Repair. In September of 1983, God stirred a revival in our church and I was called to preach. My life as I knew it was over. Within two weeks, I had quit my job and began to attend Tabernacle Baptist Bible College located in Greenville, SC.

While at Tabernacle, I met my future wife. On June 15, 1985, I married Cheryl Price of Marion, Kentucky. Together we have four sons and eight grandchildren.

As a young preacher, I served as a youth director in the Sturgis Baptist Church in Sturgis, Ky. Later, I became an associate pastor at the Island Ford Baptist Church in Madisonville, Ky. Eventually, we returned to my hometown. In 1993, I was ordained into the ministry out of the Midway Bible Baptist Church in Brevard, NC.

Also in 1993, I became the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harper, Kansas. In 1996, I became the pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church near Lexington, Tennessee. In 2002, I served as pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama. Then in 2005 we returned to North Carolina and here I began ministering in my native Transylvania County becoming the pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church in the Silversteen community. In 2009, I became pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Lake Toxaway, NC. Since September of 2016, I have been the pastor of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Rosman, NC.

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC., a Masters Degree in Apologetics from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia, and an earned Doctorate of Ministries degree from Biblical Studies and Theological Seminary in Carrollton, Georgia.

I am a bivocational minister and I’m currently employed by Transylvania County Public Schools. I work in the maintenance department.

I stand strong on the Grace of God. I’ve had the privilege to travel on mission trips to Mexico, Canada, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark.

I would like to invite you to join us for one or all of our services here at Victory. You will find a country church that preaches a coming Christ. If you have any questions, send an email to me at
